Many of us want emotional safety, personal growth, and deeper connection, but we often feel stuck in creating the changes we seek. As we launch into the second part of the year, this is the perfect time to do mid-year reset. So, we address the patterns keeping us stuck and freeing ourselves to create a new version of ourselves and a new reality. Our best life…
Often, we try to muscle our way into changing our circumstances, into creating the relationship we desire. But all our effort is operating from the conscious, surface level, when we mostly operate from habit, blueprints, and templates from a conscious and subconscious level. No matter how hard we try, we end up defaulting back to our programming.
The key to lasting change is depatterning our programming, deconstructing our blueprint. So we can install instructions we want to create what we desire.
There are three core ego patterns that shape our identity, our perceptions and how we show up in the world. Unless we are aware and proactive about these patterns they are bound to limit our potential.
This episode explores the three ego patterns that quietly run the show, and how you can begin to dissolve them by creating a new identity from the inside out. This new you is the new version of you that creates your new reality, your best life…
The Three Ego Patterns That Keep You Stuck
The Lack Pattern
This pattern keeps you focused on what’s missing. It convinces you there’s never enough: Not enough time, support, money, love, success, attention. No matter what your partner does, or how much you achieve, it doesn’t feel like enough. This pattern creates a constant sense of emptiness.
Which leads to sadness, grief, loneliness, aloneness, hopelessness, depression and so on which lead to focusing on fairness and double standards, judging imperfections, self-numbing [flight response…]
The Attachment Pattern
This pattern clings to how things should be. It’s rigid and full of expectations: How people should behave, how things should unfold, how love should look. This pattern creates a constant sense of yearning.
Which leads to let down, disappointment, resentment, frustration, anger and so on which lead to demanding apologies, owning the other, and getting stuck on expectations [fight response…]
The Control Pattern
This pattern makes you believe it’s all on you. You micromanage everything. You can’t trust others to show up. You’re constantly fixing, orchestrating, over-functioning. This pattern creates a constant feeling of nervousness.
Which leads to fear, stress, overwhelm, exhaustion, anxiety and so on which lead to over-functioning, micromanaging, doing everything ourselves, not accepting help [freeze response…]
How These Patterns Show Up in Everyday Life
These ego patterns aren’t abstract, they play out in your real, daily experiences. You feel like nothing is enough, even when everything looks fine on paper. You get frustrated that your partner isn’t doing things “right”. You silently resent having to do everything yourself.
These patterns distort your perception. They filter how you interpret reality. And most importantly, they shape how you show up in your relationships, in your work, and in your inner dialogue…
Identity Creates Reality – Your ego pattern becomes your identity. And your identity is the filter of your experience which creates your reality…
~ If you’re operating from lack, you’ll experience scarcity everywhere
~ If you’re operating from attachment, you’ll constantly be let down
~ If you’re operating from control, you’ll live in a loop of pressure and burnout
If you want to shift your reality, you have to shift your identity first.
What Needs to Change?
If we want to create a new relationship and a new life, we have to identify the gap we are trying to bridge…
Take inventory of your current life, be honest:
What feels stuck?
What feels like it’s not working?
Where are you in friction with yourself, others, or your circumstances?
Then ask:
What would I love to experience instead?
What would a better reality actually feel like?
What would be different?
And here’s the key:
Who would I need to become to create that reality?
Choose a New You
This isn’t just about letting go of old patterns per se. It’s about choosing the future version of you and stepping into it.
Who is the version of you that already lives the reality you want?
Then start showing up as them, one decision, one habit, one interaction at a time.
The Transformation Hack
But as you try to install this new version of you, you have to do it in malleable and fertile ground… You can’t just force a new way… You don’t change patterns by fighting them. The key is to disrupt all patterns, to create space for the new…
This is where challenge-based repatterning becomes powerful. Something as simple as a 30-day challenge can begin to unravel old identity patterns and create space for the new version of you.
It doesn’t matter what the challenge is. What matters is that it interrupts your norm. It challenges thought, emotional, and behavioral patterns… It promotes new thoughts, new feelings, new behaviors. And that rewires everything.
Allows new options to be installed…
Start Making Small Changes
Start showing up with the New Version of you to start making changes in your relationship and your life. The new version of you will have very different ideas about what’s acceptable and what’s desired… This might mean:
Noticing all the abundance in your life
Setting boundaries you’ve never set
Clarifying expectations to meet your needs
Speaking softer when you’d normally snap
Asking for help instead of doing it all yourself
Saying no to something that drains your energy
Every time you shift out of autopilot and into conscious choice, you’re dissolving the old and anchoring in the new.
Creating a Life That Matches the New You
Once you have clarity on the version of you that you’re becoming, map out what your life would now look like.
What needs to shift in your environment?
Your routines?
Your calendar?
Your work rhythms?
Your relationships?
You don’t need to change everything all at once. Start with one or two areas. Choose one change in each and make it real this week.
Structure, Stability, and the Masculine Reset
We are really going for it with this work. There is so much more than meets the eyes with this process… We are not just playing with a challenge and dreaming a new version of ourselves… We are making it possible because we are repatterning our subconscious and unconscious… Our mental, and our emotional patterns…
This new discipline is repatterning our relationship with the masculine parts of ourselves. It’s a reparenting, a re-fathering, healing safety, stability, and security wounds… This is the emotional part.
Giving yourself the masculine care you may have missed growing up: Structure, systems, discipline.
And you’re not just healing old wounds either… You’re building a stable foundation to support your feminine radiance, your personal power…
This is your 2025 reset.
This Is Your Mid-Year Reset
As we move into the second half of the year, it’s a natural time to reflect not just on what’s working or what isn’t, but on how we’re being in our lives.
Are we operating from patterns of lack, attachment, and control?
Are we reacting from old scripts?
Are we creating our lives with intention or defaulting to survival?
The second half of the year offers a clean slate. A chance to shift gears. Not by radically overhauling everything at once, but by reconnecting to what you value, what you want to feel, and how you want to show up.
This reset is an invitation to do things differently, to experience a personal transformation. To take one small steps toward the version of yourself you know you’re becoming, and creating the relationship and the life the new version of you wants to live. Your Best Life…
Change doesn’t require force. It requires awareness, choice, and repetition.
So as you move forward, ask yourself:
What am I ready to release?
What do I want to cultivate more?
How do I want to show up differently?
What would I do differently in my life?
And begin there gently, consistently, and with enough clarity to show up as the new you creating your next chapter this second part of the year.
You don’t have to become someone else. You just have to return to the version of you that’s always been possible. One aligned choice at a time.

Let’s face it, there are a lot of reasons to be in a long-term loving romantic relationship. One of which is my absolute favorite- that of utilizing the relationship as a vehicle for evolving ourselves, and as the partnership in our Journey for having our best Human Experience and for creating our Best Life. A tall order, I know… But I love this reason because it places everything that happens in our relationship and in the time we share into a more meaningful context… And, no matter what happens we are in it together for our highest good… Then you can never go wrong! Your relationship can even help you bypass your current ego (your egoic defensive patterns)…
We’ve been doing a lot of work in reprogramming ourselves from all kinds of angles…
What if we take this whole thing to a new level? What if we find a hack to do all this so much easier? What if we transcend our usual experience with a simple shift…?

Creating an Alter Ego…
Our usual ego keeps us stuck and small… It sabotages us… And it takes what feels like a herculean effort to reprogram it and dismantle it… But what if there is a hack in the meantime to help create what we desire?
The hack is creating an Alter Ego… An Alter Ego just completely bypasses our usual patterns! The key is to properly design and intentionally engage our Alter Ego…
ENVISION – Have a vision of a new version of you. A version of you that you want to be, become more… What part of you is usually forgotten, goes unnoticed, can’t be easily tapped into, or you even believe you don’t have, that you’d like to have in your life. What kind of person do you want to be? What dimension would you like to add to yourself?
IDENTIFY – Given the new persona you want to become or add to yourself, what beliefs would that version of you have? What kind of worldview world they have? What kind of feelings would they feel? What kind of preferences would they have about things that are important to you? What personality characteristics would they have and what strengths? How would they approach your partner, relationship, and life differently?
EMBODY – Then, start showing up as this new version of yourself… Embrace this Alter Ego for them to be the new main character of your story, you might even want to give them a name… Show up as them in certain circumstances if that’s where you need them, or as much as possible if they are you 2.0… Tweak your habits and your appearance to match this new persona. You might even want to use a totem of sorts to channel your new you… Wearing non-prescription glasses, a specific piece of jewelry, a scarf or collar, a hat, and the like…
Integrating the New You
As you flesh out this new persona and start embracing it, think about what kind of standards they have, what are their musts and deal breakers, what are their expectations, how do they want to be treated, what kind of boundaries do they have, what values do they have and how do they live by them, how do they treat others, and so on…
Here we want to make sure that the Alter Ego is in alignment with our values and the core of who we are… We are just helping a great part of you come out to play… We are not creating something that doesn’t make sense nor support you and your life… This is an enhanced version of you that normally gets covered up with the muck of your egoic patterns…
We are bypassing our egoic patterns- we are coming out through the back door!
Remember, we are doing this to support you in Becoming the Best You. The you that’s in there and has challenges coming out to play… And, that this version is much more alluring, it’s magnetic, it gets what it wants, it easily manifests your Best Life with its magnificence.
In this version you are the King or Queen of your castle… Treat your partner like the Royal you are, and you’ll get the royal treatment back!

When we focus on ReParenting ourselves as a reprogramming and healing tool, most often the work is not broken down my Mothering and Fathering… But it is super helpful to identify what we need and give that to ourselves more specifically… With the Mothering comes the Nurturing, with the Fathering comes the Disciplining… If you are feeling alone, neglected and abandoned- you need Mothering… If you are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, unmotivated- you need Fathering… But let’s go deeper today with the stories and limiting beleives playing out in your life that are holding you back from what you desire…
It’s amazing that what we believe informs and creates what we experience… That’s how powerful our thoughts are…
I’m sure you are familiar with thoughts and believes that go something like this: We are not good enough, that we can’t make a difference, that no matter how hard we try we still can’t get what we want, that we’ll always be disappointed, that we have to work hard to make things happen, that we have to do things ourselves if we want them done well, and so on… These come from the Lack, Expectation and Control Ego Patterns…
But there is nothing a little Fathering can’t do to reprogram this thinking and related habits that hold us back from creating the relationship and life we desire…
Give Yourself a Little Fathering
As Fathering has to do with safety, security, stability, structure, routine, and discipline, we can connect these to specific Ego Patterns to better understand what kind of fathering we need to give ourselves…
Safety & Security are related to the Expectation Ego Pattern. Here is where you feel let down, disappointment, and resentment, like you can’t count on others and like they won’t be there for you. Not knowing the status of the relationship, when you’ll connect next, plans, who will take care of what and the like create too much uncertainty. This doesn’t feel safe and so you might become demanding, owning, confrontational and such.
You might want to explore your scripts and believes around safety and security. About being able to count on people, about being able to be vulnerable.
You can reprogram this pattern by adding habits and tactics in your daily routine that provide consistency, reassurance, and connection to create that emotional safety and security…
Stability & Structure are related to the Control Ego Pattern. Here is where you feel overwhelm, stress, and anxiety, and like you have to take care of everything and be the one to make things happen. Not knowing if others will follow through, keep their word, do a good job, or properly show up is just too stressful. This is when you micromanage, are overly involved, become controlling and such.
You might want to explore your scripts and believes around stability and dependability. About being able to let go, about being able to trust.
You can reprogram this pattern by adding habits and tactics in your daily routine that provide sharing, updating and debriefing to create that stability and dependability…
Routine & Discipline are related to the Lack Ego Pattern. Here is where you feel alone, sad, and depressed, and like there is something wrong with you and like things are not good enough. Not knowing how to measure up, how to fix things, and how to get your needs met creates hopelessness. This is when you self-numb, become judgmental, make others wrong, and such.
You might want to explore your scripts and believes around worthiness and personal power. About self-love, about being lovable.
You can reprogram this pattern by adding habits and tactics in your daily routine that are part of a self-love practice, partner-love practice, and gratitude practice to create abundance and personal accountability.
The Actual Reprogramming
Once you explore and clean up your limiting believes and debumk your scripts accordingly, the next piece is to add the habits and tactics into your daily routine, and other cadences, for the actionable part of creating change…
Note, as soon as you implement a new habit, you are automatically targeting your ego pattern… You undermine your ego, dismantle the pattern, with the new behavior…
Sometimes it’s difficult to figure out what the habits and tactics can be implemented to address the patterns… But this doesn’t have to be complicated. You can have your own back here by embracing a 30-Day Challenge that aligns with what you are trying to reprogram…
Personal Development, Relationship Enrichment, creating the relationship we want, creating the life we want, don’t have to require so much effort. We can actually have fun addressing things that might get in the way!

It is uncommon to speak in terms of Mothering and Fathering in the context of our relationship… Unless of course we are talking about raising our children. But I’ve been presenting this concept as a way to continue to heal and grow ourselves.
As a personal development tool, and more recently as a relationship enrichment tool… Today I’m expanding the Fathering repertoire by sharing the importance of personal and partner’s character strengths.
Remember, we all have female and male energy and can embrace characteristics and embody attributes from both. When I’m presenting on Mothering and Fathering, and Female and Male Energy, I’m not talking about gender or sexuality… I’m referring to our inherent energies… Our job is to balance how we embrace, activate and utilize them…
Mothering flows from female energy and Fathering flows from male energy, and they can both be done by women and men… There is no judgement as to which is better or preferred, and this is not a form of sexism, genderism, or such. This just is. Anything else is a social construct we’ve unknowingly accepted…
But please note, I’m not denying the oppression of female energy and women over millennia… If nothing else, I’m actually highlighting the importance of undoing this oppression. I’m doing it through what I know best, which is personal development and relationship enrichment…
Mothering has to do with nurturing and caring.
Fathering has to do with structuring and disciplining.
When we embrace providing these characteristics to ourselves, we reparent ourselves… I refer you to the book Healing Your Emotional Self, for top notch work on reparenting ourselves…
Reparenting ourselves means giving ourselves what we needed and didn’t get growing up. How we were hurt and not met growing up created wounds, limiting believes and other goodies that have permeated how we organized ourselves and cope with life. Including how we show up in relationship, get triggered and create our stuck dynamics… Reparenting ourselves is a way of healing and releasing ourselves from that stronghold…
Then, bring this to the context of our relationship and we have an exponential impact… Now, I’m not talking about being a mother or a father to your partner and vice versa. That’s the worst thing we can do… I’m talking about being Mothering and Fathering. I’m talking about your interactions and how you approach your partner and the relationship using more:
Nurturing, compassion, softness, flexibility, and such (Mothering) for engendering feelings of belonging, worthiness, and acceptance.
RoleModeling/guiding, routines, structure, systems and such (Fathering) for engendering feelings of safety, security, and stability.
You see how these can be salve to core wounds?
The key here is to sprinkle the Mothering characteristics into your interactions with yourself and your partner. And the Fathering characteristics to how you do your relationship and your life.
So, where do Character Strengths come in? Working on developing our Character Strengths is a Fathering tactic as it involves learning, honing, applying. Mothering is feminine with being, expanding, flowing… The active and directed part of this endeavor is masculine and therefore Fathering…
Working on developing our Character Strengths helps us become more of who we are, more integrated and robust. It helps us have a richer human experience, and it helps us bring a better self to our relationship and our partner…
Having strong Character Strengths helps partners avoid the many pitfalls they would otherwise encounter in their relationship…
Our personal and our partner’s character strengths influence the character of our relationship with things like a love, kindness, gratitude, honesty, forgiveness, perspective, self-regulation, teamwork, etc.
Doesn’t it make sense that to develop this further in ourselves would only but enrich our relationship?
As we continue to expand our Fathering repertoire, we are polishing the use of our male energy for more security, stability, productivity, efficiency, and results in our life. Let’s continue to create our Best Self, Best Relationship and Best Life!
ASSIGNMENT: Intentionally integrate your Character Strengths into your life and your relationship…
Take the surveyto identify your current strengths and where you can stand to invest in some more development.
The easiest way to work on developing a characteristic is by creating a Habit to help you practice it… Choose 3 Character Strengths you are looking to develop and create Habits for them into your daily routine: Doing a behavior or activity that would help you practice the strength. And, keep working this method until you feel you’ve made progress developing the Character Strengths you desire.
As with anything, when you bring consciousness, focus and attention to something, Awesomeness happens. I wish this for you in your life and your relationship.

A lot of people have difficulties having trust in their relationship, and in general… Mistrust in our relationship is not just about wondering, or obsessing about, if our partner is cheating. But not trusting our partner usually has the flavor of not trusting we can count on them. That they have our back. That they’ll pick up where we leave off.
Whether or not they’ll follow through on what they say. If they’ll use their best judgement. And so on. It is imperative that we create safety, security and trust in our relationship for it to be successful…
A quick note about wondering if your partner is cheating. Listen to your gut, it knows… Listening to your gut is a very subtle sense of knowing. It’s not blaring. Anything blaring is fear, and fear has to do with us, and not what our partner is doing or not doing. Keep your jealousy in check. This is also about you, and your insecurities. There are exceptions of course, you have to keep your context in mind.
If there is a history of indiscretions, you are probably on hyperalert and picking up stuff, and something most likely is going on. Don’t shoot the messenger. Deeper healing needs to happen to change this pattern. But this is for another time. If this resonates for you, sending you love (you might want to get support with this).
Going back to regular mistrust, to mistrust on the everyday and the mundane. Note, I qualify this again because when it comes down to it most of us can usually trust that our partner will be there when it matters and for the important stuff. Though there are exceptions here as well of course.
Sometimes our partner can’t be there for us with the big and important stuff either if it goes against themselves in some way or triggers them in some way. This depends on your relationship dynamics and the emotional development of the partner/s.
One more qualifier… During times of tragedy, partner’s get thrown into a tizzy and go into survival mode for themselves, possibly not being able to be there for each other.
Nobody ever said relationships are easy! These are the meatier ways in that mistrust and betrayal happen. They are blows to the relationship and require more specific attention.
But for today’s topic, I’m focusing on mistrust as a pervasive feeling in your relationship (and outside of your relationship…). Mistrust in the everyday and the mundane. Why this focus? Because this is where the healing and transformation happens…
How you do your relationship and your life on a daily basis and in the little things, has a profound impact on what kind of relationship and life you create at the end of the day…
Safety, Security and Trust
We don’t automatically create safety, security and trust in our relationship. This has to be an intentional tactic in our approach to our relationship and our partner. And, we have to be intentional about how we do our everyday life to provide this to ourselves as well. This intentionality helps us heal any unfinished business and reprogram old belief systems still lingering that are informing how we perceive interactions and the people in our life…
Safety, security and trust have to do with Fathering… How we were Fathered growing up had an impact in our ability to feel safe and secure and be able to trust.
Did we have consistent caretaking and routines? Were boundaries respected? Was discipline authoritative (not authoritarian/controlling or lax/lacking)? Were we honored for who we are?
Or did we experience rigidity and/or chaos? Inconsistent attention, routines and rules? Ridicule and dismissal? Or even maybe verbal and other violence?
Do you start to see that how things played out growing up informed our ability to feel safe and secure, and therefore our ability to trust?
And, what if we haven’t done any healing or personal development, we are still walking around with the same perception of others and the world. That the world and people are dangerous or untrustworthy… We walk around with the belief that we can’t count on others or trust them, that others are out to get us, that bad things will happen, and such.
Hey, I’m not saying people and the world are perfect and that these things don’t ever happen all the same.
I’m referring to situations when we just see the worst possible scenario, when we make negative assumptions and when we assign malicious motives that are totally unfounded. When we can’t give the benefit of the doubt. Or worse, when good things are coming our way, but we can’t receive them for the same reasons!
If all this is resonating for you, you need some Fathering. No, you don’t need your Daddy or a Sugar Daddy. LOL And, Fathering is not just from fathers and men. Women do Fathering, just as men do Mothering… This has nothing to do with gender. This has to do with energy and characteristics that all humans have though might need to embrace more… You need more Fathering from yourself and in your relationship…
Thus, we show up properly and safely. We are accountable, consistent, and reliable. And therefore, we are trustworthy… We are trustworthy for ourselves and for our partner…
Kudos when you tackle this, for you’d be Fathering, re-parenting and re-programming, yourself… Intentionally showing up and setting up your life and your relationship allows you to create your radiant and successful relationship and meaningful life.
ASSIGNMENT: We’ve been living in a male dominated world, yet we haven’t cracked how to properly utilize our male characteristics, strengths and energy…
1) Take stock of how you show up in the world and what characteristics and strengths you use the most.
MALE – Analytical, strategic, systematic, planner, organizer, scheduler, logical, manager, strength, power, and such
FEMALE – Compassionate, caring, nurturing, flexible, flowy, spontaneous, creative, intuitive, emotional, soft, and such
2) How well are these working for you? Does it seem that you can improve in both areas? The key is own ourselves fully, integrate both aspects more, and be more intentional. Add intentionality to how you approach your day and your relationship using the inherent male characteristics and their related tools.
Create the container, the structure, with your male energy, e.i., your daily routine… This will create the safety, stability, and security we all so desperately seek…
